Challenges in photoprotection
Avène published “Challenges in Photoprotection,” a special edition of the JAAD
In March 2017, AVENE was granted authorization to publish a supplement devoted to the “Entretiens d’Avène Americas” round-table discussions in open access format in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology: “Challenges in Photoprotection.” Henry Lim, President of the American Academy of Dermatology in 2016, was chairman of the discussions and guest editor of the supplement.
That year, the JAAD held first place in the rankings based on Impact Factor (IF) among all the dermatology journals referenced by Thomson Reuters. As a reminder, the Impact Factor is the best indicator of a scientific journal’s worldwide influence.
Since 2002, the “Entretiens d’Avène” round-table discussions have been bringing together globally renowned experts to discuss dermatology-related topics of interest to the brand.
The Rio discussions published in the JAAD contain input from some highly regarded professionals: Antony R. Young (King’s College, London, UK), Tania F. Cestari (Porto Alegre, Brazil) and Fernando M. Stengel (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
The article does not contain any direct sales promotion but the work carried out by Antony R. Young concerning the prevention of damage caused by sun exposure on DNA is quoted on page 105. This article is therefore implicitly related to our AVENE sun care range.
